REMS Interview Program

The University of Rochester REMS Weekend is being held on February 28 – March 2, 2019.

This is an invite-only program.

Fifty students were selected to interview out of hundreds of highly qualified applicants.

The interview is a mandatory part of the selection process.

Registration is closed.

Unfortunately, there are no alternative days for the interviews.

Travel Info

Please plan to arrive between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Thursday, February 28.

If you experience a delay, please call Admissions at (585) 275-3221.

Driving
If you are driving and using a GPS, please enter 252 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester NY 14611 as your destination. This will bring your to the main entrance of The University of Rochester.

Google Directions to Campus

When you arrive at the Elmwood Avenue entrance to campus, be sure to stop at the Visitor Parking and Information Booth (straight ahead, in the middle of the street) for instructions on where to park and how to get to the Office of Admissions in Wallis Hall. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to ensure adequate time to park.

Flying
The University’s River Campus is about two miles from the Greater Rochester International Airport (airport code ROC). Commercial taxi service and car rental are available from the airport. Cab fare is approximately $10, depending on the number of people and luggage.

Bus
The Rochester city buses stop at several locations on the River Campus as well as the Medical Center and Eastman campuses on all routes. For schedule and bus route information, visit the Rochester Transportation Services page.

Train
The Rochester Amtrak station is located at 320 Central Avenue. Taxi service and car rental are available, and the station is located on the municipal bus line that serves the River Campus.

Once you get to campus, check in with the visitor booth at the gate. They’ll give you a map of campus and parking information.

What to Expect

Current Rochester students will host you on Thursday and Friday night.

For parents and other family members, we have a list of Rochester area hotels. If you specify that you’re visiting the University of Rochester, some hotels will offer special rates.

As our guest as a finalist, your meals and on-campus lodging are included at no charge during your visit.

Please make sure to bring:

  • Sleeping bag
  • Pillow
  • Towel
  • Additional spending money
  • Appropriate dress clothes for your interview
  • Outdoor attire to accommodate for winter weather

A fun and informative day has been planned for all REMS finalists and their family. (Family member attendance is optional, but we think they will enjoy their visit.)

Open Class List

Be sure to arrive to your chosen class 10 minutes early and introduce yourself to the professor. No registration required. Some classes may overlap with our scheduled program for the day, so you will need to make a decision about what you would like to attend.

Family members are welcome to join as well, though some classes may have limited seating.
