The Pre-College Programs operate independently of the University of Rochester’s Financial Aid Office. Limited aid is available and is awarded to families in need of the assistance; this is not a merit-based award. In determining need, the committee considers a number of factors, such as family income and other available resources, family size and the number of siblings in college, exceptional family medical expenses, and/or geographic differences in the cost of living. Families may only be awarded financial assistance one time per student accepted to the Pre-College Programs.
We award aid until our funds are depleted, and funds may be depleted before the application deadline. It is to your advantage to apply as early as possible. We cannot guarantee that all eligible applicants will receive aid, even if they applied well before the financial assistance deadline.
Financial assistance may not fully cover a student’s expenses for the Pre-College Programs, and students are encouraged to seek other sources of funding. The aid a student may receive is nontransferable between programs and can only be used for the requested session. Financial assistance will never cover travel to or from Rochester, NY to attend the programs.
To be considered for financial assistance, you will need to complete the Financial Assistance Application no later than March 1, 2020.
For all programs, expect the Taste of College Program:
|Date of Official Withdrawal||Refund Amount|
|Before June 1, 2020||50% of total program cost|
|June 1, 2020 or later||$0|
Notification of not being able to attend a program must be in writing and sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Note: Application fees are non-refundable. No refund will be given to anyone dismissed from the program.
Refunds for credit card payments are automatically credited to the cardholder’s account. Please allow up to 6–8 weeks for refund check processing from the date a written request is received.
University of Rochester Pre-College Programs reserves the right to cancel or combine any course or program for which the enrollment is deemed insufficient or for other administrative reasons. The scheduled instructors and courses are subject to change, pending sufficient enrollment. Facilities and equipment, including software, are also subject to change.
