Types of Aid

Application Instructions

  • Register and complete the CSS PROFILE application. The University of Rochester's code is 2928. Canadian and Mexican citizens do not need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
    • Early Decision priority deadline: 12:00 am EST, December 1.
    • Early Notification and Regular Decision priority deadline: 12:00 am EST, February 15*

*If you miss the deadline for your application, you can still apply for financial aid. Be aware that filing late will impact how quickly our office can review your information. We strongly encourage all students to apply by the deadline, as we are unable to guarantee that full demonstrated need will be met for students filing late. In all cases, do not wait for actual year-end income figures to file the forms. Use the best possible estimates to ensure you do not miss the priority deadlines.

  • We participate in the College Board's IDOC service. Applicants who are required to submit their 2013 tax information along with any wage statements as part of their aid application will be contacted via email by the College Board with instructions and deadline information. If you are unable to submit your 2013 tax information to IDOC by the priority deadline of 12:00 am EST, March 1, be sure to submit your CSS PROFILE by the deadline, using estimates. Submit your 2013 tax information and wage statements to IDOC as soon as you are able. Be sure to include a notarized English translation of the documents that you are submitting if required.
