Hello! I'm a member of the Class of 2020, majoring in Biomedical Engineering and minoring in International Relations. Originally from New Delhi, India, I'm currently involved in the EcoReps program and the Quad Hall Council, as the Director of Community Development. I spend my free time walking across campus, making new friends, chasing groundhogs, and writing about the same. I'm so excited to share my experiences with all of you!

Hello, My name is Bianca, Class of 2020. I am an international student from none other than Kingston, Jamaica! I am a Biology major (Pre-med) with minors in Audio Music Engineering & Music. Simply put I am always trying to find new ways and perspectives to think about our daily lives and build on the knowledge that I am constantly acquiring from my friends, family and the U of R.

Catherine Lewis

Hello! I am Associate Director, School and Community Relations. Before coming to the Office of Admissions, I had the privilege of working at UR’s Rochester Center for Community Leadership and RIT’s Spectrum Support Program. A native Wisconsinite, I traveled to sunny Houston for my undergraduate degree at Rice University, and eventually landed in Rochester, where I received both my Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the Eastman School of Music. As a woman with cerebral palsy, I’m especially passionate about access and inclusion for students with dis(diff)abilities, and am thankful to work with a team that values diversity in all its forms.

Charlotte Pillow

I am a member of the Class of 2019. I am originally from Ridgewood, NJ. I am a student in the Dual Degree for Nursing program. I am majoring in nursing, public health, and interdisciplinary dance studies, and minoring in psychology. I am the President of the College Diabetes Network and a research assistant at the School of Nursing. For the 2017 spring semester, I am studying public health at the University of Oxford.

Isthier Chaudhury

I am an Assistant Director of International Admissions in our office, recruiting primarily in China and parts of Long Island. I graduated from Rochester in 2011, majoring in both chemical engineering and Chinese. I hope to answer questions we get from students all around the world, while also sharing a few of my own travel adventures!

Jackie Heinzelmann

I'm an undergraduate of the Class of 2018 double-majoring in International Relations and East Asian Studies. As an international student from Switzerland, I've previously been part of Residential Life on campus, and I am currently holding executive board memberships for two clubs on campus: Creative Arts Club and UR Cinema Group. When I'm not busy getting ready for class, drawing, or watching movies, I barista at the Starbucks on campus while simultaneously trying to juggle some cool research for the Department of Political Science.

Hi there! I'm a Rochester native and an admissions counselor, recruiting in the New York Metropolitan Area. I'm also a soon-to-be double alumna with my BS in '13 and my master's on its way this summer! I look forward to sharing insights into the world of admissions and my own college journey!

I'm involved with quidditch, intramural sports (outdoor soccer, futsal, volleyball, and floor hockey), Student Programming Board, Psychology Undergraduate Council, PAWS, and Outing Club. I'm so happy to be here and I'm very, very excited!

Natalie Ziegler

Hello! I'm a member of the Class of 2018, and I study anthropology and comparative literature. Within my comparative literature, I study fiction and creative writing, as well as gender studies. I spend most of my time on campus studying in the beautiful Rush Rhees Library, but I can also be found at various Students' Association Government functions, at work in the gym or the Department of Rare Books, cohosting an online radio show for WRUR The Sting, or relaxing with friends. I enjoy exploring Rochester's neighborhoods and its downtown, and I love newspapers, biking, and reading.

Patrick Hennessey

I am an alumnus of the University of Rochester, and I've worked in the Financial Aid Office as both a student worker and now a financial aid counselor. While at the University I was an English major, history minor, and also was involved with Greek Life. When I'm not slaving away over a hot keyboard, I'm usually at home writing, reading historical fiction and non-fiction, and playing my guitar.

Sammy Cheng

Hi! My name is Sammy Cheng. I am a first-year student planning to major in microbiology and public health (in some shape or form). Being born in New York but raised in Indiana for most of my life makes living in upstate New York a very different experience. I am part of the Hong Kong Student Organization, Society of Asian Scientist and Engineers, and the Undergraduate Society of Biology. Hopefully, I can provide valuable insight into life at the University of Rochester!
