I am the only U of R student to have played the tenor saxophone for former President Bill Clinton.
What is your favorite University of Rochester tradition? Why?
My favorite UR tradition is Dandelion Day because it gives students a chance to relax in the warm weather right before final exams.
What is your most meaningful extracurricular activity? Why?
I love being a part of the F.A. Hayek Reading Circle because it gives me the chance to discuss and explore various political philosophies in a group of highly engaging students.
What is your favorite University of Rochester memory?
My favorite UR memory is the first snowfall of freshman year.
What is your favorite thing about the city of Rochester?
I love garbage plates!
Why did you choose the University of Rochester?
I chose the University of Rochester for its strength in the social sciences and also for its academic freedom. The thought of building a curriculum was just too compelling!
What unique opportunities have you taken advantage of at Rochester?
As a member of the UR Debate Union, I’ve had the opportunity to travel around the country to place such as (but certainly not limited to) West Point Military Academy and University of Texas-Dallas.
Why is University of Rochester a good fit for you?
University of Rochester is a good fit for me because of its tradition in academic freedom and curiosity. I love the level of abstract theorizing that takes place in every department. It has really allowed me, originally an undecided student, not only to find my interests, but also to develop a strong worldview based on consistent ideas.
What did you do last Saturday night?
I threw a small party at my off-campus house for a group of close friends.
What is your dream job after graduating from the University of Rochester?
I don’t have a set career path quite yet. However, it would be incredible to work for a top consulting firm, such as McKinsey & Co. or Boston Consulting Group.
If you could meet one celebrity on a tour, who would it be?
I would want to meet Emma Watson.
What is your favorite part of the UR campus to show on a tour?
I love the look on people’s faces when they get to see the academic atmosphere of the Martin E. Messinger Periodical Reading Room.
What is your favorite off campus event and why?
Who is your favorite professor and why?
Professor Michael Rizzo has been a huge inspiration for me through the course of my undergraduate career because of his enthusiasm for teaching and also his intellectual curiosity.
What’s been your favorite class? Why?
My favorite class at UR is definitely Principles of Economics because it provides students with a very interesting framework both for analyzing newspaper editorials and also for making everyday choices.
How would you describe the “typical Rochester student?”
I would describe the typical Rochester student as being curious and multifaceted.
