What is your most meaningful extracurricular activity? Why?

Pep band is definitely my most meaningful extracurricular. We are there all season supporting the teams and watching them win and loose. Freshman year, I got to go to the final four with the women’s basketball team. We were the only students that could come, but they were really happy to see us there.

What unique opportunities have you taken advantage of at Rochester?

This summer, I’m going to Berlin with the department of modern languages and cultures. I’m using the flexibility offered by the Rochester curriculum to pursue both a major in genetics and two minors in French and German.

What did you do last Saturday night?

I was in the palestra cheering on the men’s basketball team with the rest of the pep band during the sweet sixteen round of the NCAA division III championship tournament.

What’s been your favorite class? Why?

BIO 198 Principles of Genetics. This class convinced me to be a genetics major because it answered so many of the “how do we know what we know” questions that come up when you study science.
