What was your favorite University of Rochester tradition?
Meliora Weekend. It showcased the spirit of the University of Rochester and allowed the students to share some of our college experiences with our parents. Even though my parents couldn’t come, I enjoyed taking part in all the activities and getting “adopted” by my friends’ families.
What was your favorite U of R memory?
As a freshman hall event, we trekked out for an exciting day of apple picking. We told jokes and sang songs on the ride over and then spent the day picking, taste-testing, and stuffing ourselves with apples. The day ended with a picnic at the park with hot dogs, burgers, and Frisbee games. It was fun hanging out, chilling, and building new friendships.
What was your favorite thing about the city of Rochester?
I enjoyed going to the Geva Theatre to watch the Rochester improv troupe perform, getting a hysterical night of comedy and supporting the actors, many of whom were U of R alums.
Why did you choose the University of Rochester?
University of Rochester swayed me because of its many amazing research opportunities. I was very interested in pursuing a career in research, and U of R was a perfect place for me to gain more research experience. There were so many professors who are more than willing to take on interested undergraduate students into their labs.
What unique opportunities have you taken advantage of at U of R?
I was constantly trying to take advantage of the research opportunities available. I had many meetings with professors in hopes of getting established in one of their laboratories.
