Rochester Scholars and Rochester Scholars Jr.
Rochester Scholars and Rochester Scholars Jr. are the University of Rochester's pre-college, academic programs that offers high school and middle school students a chance to experience college life and explore new careers.
- The program is for high school and middle school students.
- Students enroll in mini-courses, reflective of fields of study at the University of Rochester or other higher education institutions.
- Students interact with peers from area schools and get a taste of the college experience in a fun-filled and challenging setting.
- Books, supplies, and lunch are included in the price of tuition.
- Meet with University of Rochester admissions counselors to learn more about applying to college.
- Students have the opportunity to explore many different careers to find the career.
- Rochester Scholars classes (grades 9-12) meet for 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, with morning sessions from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and afternoon sessions from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. A residential component of this program is available for one to three weeks over the summer.
- Rochester Scholars Jr. classes (grades 6-8) meet for one week from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Taste of College
For over twenty years the Taste of College program has been offering high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to get a jumpstart on their college careers by taking courses for credit. These are actual college courses with our own undergraduate students.
- Taste of College classes are actual undergraduate classes, they take place during the traditional University semesters.
- Earn college credit, which can be transferred to most colleges and universities.
- Grow confident in your ability to perform at a college level.
- Explore subjects that are not offered in your high school.
- Study with top-notch faculty, and students who are interested in the same topics that you are.
- A residential component of this program is available for four weeks over the summer.
