Overnight Hosting at the University of Rochester

The goal of the Overnight Hosting program is to provide high school seniors with a glimpse of what it's like to be a student at the University of Rochester. Prospective students will be matched up with current UR students, spend the night in a residence hall, eat in the dining halls, and possibly attend a class.

The life of a UR student is not totally structured, so neither is the overnight experience. For starters, though, you can expect to eat dinner with your host and take part in at least one campus activity, depending on what your host is involved in—you may sit in on a study group, attend a club meeting, or simply hang out in the dorms.

We look forward to having you spend the night on campus in the near future!

Please note:

  • Only high school seniors are eligible to be hosted.
  • Hosting nights are limited to Monday through Thursday; no weekends.
  • Hosting is limited to a single night.
  • You are encouraged to bring a sleeping bag and pillow.
  • You will meet up with your host at 4:30 p.m. in the Office of Admissions
    (Wallis Hall).
  • We try to match you with a host who shares your academic and/or social interests.
  • A hosting coordinator will contact you via email in a few days to confirm your visit.
